Overnight freezing rain is not conducive to getting observers out for early-morning bird counting. Only two record counts this year (Carolina Wren & Cooper's Hawk), but respectable numbers of the regular species none-the-less. The weather probably led to missed goldeneye and shrike; the northern finches simply stayed to our north where the good cone crops are.

Sincere thanks to all -- we hope to see you again next year, along with everyone else trapped at home by icy roads this year.
