Vermont County Birding Quest for 2011 is to hold a bird walk from 8:15
to 10:45 AM on Saturday December 3, 2011, at Lake Runnemede in
Windsor, VT (road and carpooling instructions below). Chris Rimmer and
George Clark are to lead. This walk is free and open to the public.
Children accompanied by an adult are welcome. Participants should be
prepared to walk as much as two miles over uneven and damp terrain.
Dress warmly. Bring binoculars and scopes if available. We'll be
seeking all kinds of birds including possible winter finches.
Depending on conditions at Lake Runnemede that morning, we may also
visit other nearby sites. This walk will be canceled in case of
hazardous road conditions or steady precipitation.

Road and carpooling instructions: From Exit 9 off I-91, turn south on
Route 5 towards Windsor. After going about 3 miles southward on Route
5, look for the Back Forty guns and ammo store on the left, with a
Price Chopper supermarket just beyond, also on the left. This walk
will begin at 8:15 AM by the entrance to a long driveway directly
across Route 5 from the Back Forty store. Please do not drive into
that driveway, vehicular use of which is reserved for local residents.
Parking is available along Route 5, but be sure your site is legal.

Carpoolers from towns around the Hanover/Norwich area are to leave
from the River Road commuter parking lot in Norwich by the Ledyard
Bridge at 7:45 AM that morning.
