On Friday November 25, around noon, we were surprised to see a female
Pileated Woodpecker clinging to some grape vines behind "The Greens"
retirement home in Hanover, NH. Mike counted 40 grapes consumed by
the Woodpecker as we watched.

Here in Weathersfield along Skyline Drive and connecting roads, we
have encountered many flocks of chickadees accompanied by
Golden-crowned Kinglets and Brown Creepers. Also in the same area,
there is a Red-tailed Hawk with an entourage of crows. We hope they
stay around for the Christmas Bird Count in three weeks.
