A typically productive morning at Campbell Flats, with the immature Little
Blue Heron continuing to put on a show. The real surprise was a
persistently singing Yellow-billed Cuckoo that flew overhead from one side
of the road to the other, last heard singing ~9 am by the set-back house on
the north side of the road. A Blue-gray Gnatcatcher and adult Tennessee
Warbler were foraging along the forest edge on the west end of the corn
field.

Highlights:

1 Little Blue Heron -- continuing immature bird foraging in beaver-flooded
meadow
1 Green Heron
1 Yellow-billed Cuckoo -- consistently singing 'coo coo' song, responded to
playback and flew overhead, landing 50 yards away and continuing to sing.
1 Ruby-throated Hummingbird
1 Eastern Wood-Pewee -- singing
1 Alder/Willow Flycatcher (Traill's Flycatcher) -- immature with buffy
wing-bars
3 Eastern Phoebe
2 Eastern Kingbird
1 Blue-headed Vireo -- singing
1 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher -- foraging silently
7 Eastern Bluebird -- several juveniles
1 Veery -- calling
