  Even  though some scholars choose to associate the Shiwei with the Mongols,  there's no evidence to suggest that the Shiwei spoke a Mongolic  language.  I might add that not only is there no linguistic  evidence to suggest that the Shiwei spoke a Mongolic (or para-Mongolic)  language, but also there is no lexical data for Shiwei at all outside of the  realm of onomastics.
