OPEN AUDITIONS - parts for 3 Males

'Art' by Yasmina Reza.

A one-act comedy.

Auditions will be

Wednesday, September 24th from 7-10 pm and

Thursday, September 25th from 8-10 pm in the rehearsal room.

About the play: A winner of the 1998 Tony Award for Best Play and the 1996 Olivier Award for Best Comedy, ‘Art’ focuses on the concepts of visual art as investment, as status symbol, and, in this case, as just plain dumb. When Serge buys a plain white painting for $200,000, he sees his friendship unravel when he (regrettably) asks his friends’ opinions on the piece. A biting exploration of character, fast-paced quips, and the stability of a relationship build upon ‘art.’ At Dartmouth, it will be staged in 3 site-specific performances--one in the Current Periodicals Room (Baker), one in the Black Visual Arts Center lobby, and one in One Wheelock.
