Bird Walk in Norwich -- Start the New Year on the right foot with a
bird walk on New Year's Day, January 1, 2010.
Meet at 9:00 AM outside Dan & Whit's general store on Main Street in
downtown Norwich, Vermont. Chris Rimmer, a Norwich resident and
Director of the Vermont Center for EcoStudies, will lead a leisurely
birding trip to inaugurate the Norwich 2010 Birding Quest project. Be
prepared to walk on mostly level ground for about an hour, from Dan &
Whit's to Hopson Road and up to Hillside Cemetery, then back along
Pine Tree Road to Hopson. Dress warmly and bring binoculars if
available. Children are welcome with an accompanying adult. The walk
will take place regardless of weather conditions, but be aware that
poor weather will reduce chances of seeing many birds.

The goal of the Norwich 2010 Birding Quest <http://www.vtecostudies.org/quest/
 > is to find and identify as many kinds of birds as possible within
Norwich during calendar year 2010. Join the fun and learn more about
the Quest on this invigorating and informative walk. This will also
be part of the annual Hanover-Norwich Christmas Bird Count <http://tinyurl.com/ydf2e5o
 >, so we'll be counting numbers of every species we identify.
