Here is a image of the same bird, perched in our lilac and posted to the
Vermont eBird Flickr group.

We'll post an update Monday morning as to whether or not the bird is
around. eBird indicates that this is the second Vermont record of the
species, if accepted. It was first noticed at about 2 pm today, just
after we arrived home, tracked down the singing towhee and got
distracted by exciting views of the goshawk - phew!

Other excitement here today included:
1 Northern Goshawk - adult male
   1 Eastern Towhee - singing
   1 Rose-breasted Grosbeak
   8 Purple Finch
   1 Pine Siskin
   2 Evening Grosbeak
