So, I arrived at the Pompy Flats with great hopes for some nighthawks. Even
set up my chair.
Before I could get my binocs, I saw 2... then they headed off toward the
bridge upstream on 132. Then I saw a few more.
Then, I decided I should do some chasing. I drove up to the Pirouette
Farm...and there swirling, dipping, diving and feeding were about 70 CoNi's
!
I watched them for about 80 minutes...such great looks. Their white throat
patch. The cool patches on their wings. Even saw a few when they fanned
their tails, sported a white necklace.
Took some weak pics with my cell phone. about 80-100' above.
Fun !
