So, I arrived at the Pompy Flats with great hopes for some nighthawks.  Even set up my chair.

Before I could get my binocs, I saw 2…..  then they headed off toward the bridge upstream on 132.  Then I saw a few more.

Then, I decided I should do some chasing.  I drove up to the Pirouette Farm…..and there swirling, dipping, diving and feeding were about 70 CoNi’s !

I watched them for about 80 minutes…..such great looks. Their white throat patch. The cool patches on their wings.  Even saw a few when they fanned their tails, sported a white necklace.
