I have no inside technical knowledge, so I'll let somebody who does give a
definitive answer to this, but it's possible that FMI would have had to
fiddle with the basic ".FP7" file format to include IP6 compatibility. I for
one am delighted that they've been able to make ".FP7" last as long as they
have, and it would take a lot more than IP6 compatibility to make me want to
have to deal with a new file format.
