APPLY FOR ESD FUNDING

Every year, the DOC's Environmental Studies Division funds student projects that encourage sustainability at Dartmouth and reduce Dartmouth's environmental impact. The DOC supports students in enjoying the out-of-doors, and it encourages them to give back to it in this way. Funds will be awarded to well-planned, feasible projects addressing relevant sustainable issues​. If you're interested in applying, read the attached guidelines and complete the attached applications by midnight on Friday, February 13th! DARTMOUTH COUNCIL ON CLIMATE CHANGE (DC3), 6:30 pm, Haldeman 125

Wanna build a climate snowman? Or just a snowman? We will briefly discuss agenda for the rest of the term over dinner and then go outside to build a few climate snowmen.



TU B'SHEVAT SEDER AND DINNER, 6pm, Roth Center of Jewish Life

Join Dartmouth Hillel to celebrate Tu B'Shevat, the holiday that marks the New Year for the Trees. Hillel is having a sustainability themed dinner, with students speaking about sustainability and the environment, including Autumn Brunelle '15 and Nick Parillo '15.



DARTMOUTH HUMANITARIAN ENGINEERING (DHE), 8pm, Thayer Room MB01

DHE runs a wide range of technical projects in developing nations, including small-scale hydropower, improved cookstoves, and an initiative aimed at improving access to clean water. They strive to encourage development, improve health, and reduce environmental impact through sustainable, affordable, socially-conscious solutions for communities in need. DARTMOUTH ANIMAL WELFARE GROUP (DAWG), 7:30pm, Collis 219

The Dartmouth Animal Welfare Group raises awareness about issues of animal ethics on campus, increases students' interactions with animals, and supports national movements that also promote animal welfare. DAWG is promoting Meatless Mondays this term, for the environment, for the animals, for your health!

SHANNON FRANCIS: Permaculture & Traditional Ecological Knowledge: A Holistic Movement for Wellbeing and Environmental Stewardship, 4-5:30pm, Filene Auditorium

Dartmouth is extremely excited to have Shannon Francis, from the Southwest homelands of Arizona and New Mexico, to talk about permaculture and Traditional Ecological Knowledge as holistic systems for wellbeing and environmental stewardship. She will be sharing her extensive knowledge on permaculture; developing environmental systems that are sustainable and self-sufficient. Blending this with Traditional Ecological Knowledge, Shannon is a pioneer for holistic systems for wellbeing and environmental stewardship. She strives to share her passion and commitment to educate and instill care taking of community and land stewardship through Indigenous values and principles; weaving traditional ecological knowledge with innovative science.



ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION ORGANIZATION (ECO), 7pm, Collis 219

NATURE WALK UP BALCH HILL, 3:15 pm, Dartmouth Organic Farm

This week we are taking a trip up Balch Hill to catch the sun setting over campus. We will be playing in the snow, and learning some cool nature facts. Come discover a cool natural area within walking distance of campus! Meet behind Robo at 3:15, back at 5:15. Dress warmly, since we will be doing some standing around. Boots, multiple layers of pants, all your jackets, gloves. Blitz Sam Kernan with questions!

WINTER CARNIVAL FARM BONFIRE, 4-6pm, Dartmouth Organic Farm

Looking for a fun way to spend the evening? Celebrate Winter Carnival at the Farm with delicious food and a bonfire! There will be chili, finger foods, and s'mores! BYOBowl and utensils. Rides will be leaving from behind Robo starting at 3:45pm.
