This year, the Dartmouth Centers Forum theme is Body Politic(s): Health, Wellness, and Social Responsibility. The DCF has funding available for fall term events that align with the theme.

Event Proposals:

  * Please complete the online Proposal Form<http://www.dartmouth.edu/~centersforum/forms/dcf-form.html>, which can also be found on the DCF website<http://www.dartmouth.edu/~centersforum/>.
  * Deadline for proposals for fall term events is extended till October 9th.
  * Proposal budgets should not exceed $4,000.
  * The selection committee may choose to award full or partial funding.
  * Successful proposal submitters will be contacted within the week of the deadline.
  * There will be additional opportunities to submit proposals for winter and spring 2014.

Information About the Theme: Amidst a climate of global uncertainty, there is no more critical issue than taking care of ourselves and each other. From international dialogue to local organizing, the DCF looks to engage our entire community through this issue. Some questions that align with the theme are:

  * How does one grapple with stark disparities in international health care?
  * What is our "bystander responsibility" when we see unhealthy behaviors?
  * How does our political system impact our health and well being?
  * Does caring about faraway health problems even make a difference?
The DCF has created a focus for each term that will help students, staff, and faculty explore elements of the theme. Priority will be given to proposals that align with our sub-themes; however, we will accept all proposals that align with our main theme.

  * Fall: "Taking it Personally:" The role of the individual in addressing systemic issues.
  * Winter: "Economics of Healthcare:" The haves, the have-nots, and the mismatch of services and needs.
  * Spring: "Body Image:" What we see, what we think, and how we feel.

For more information and details about the theme and proposal process, please visit the DCF website. <http://www.dartmouth.edu/~centersforum/>
