Hello, Barbara,

Well, for whatever consolation it is, here's you a "don't know"
reply. :-)

The best I can say is that sometimes Nisus does not refresh properly,
but closing the file and reopening it often sort forces a refresh.

As for the slow-down, I used to have spells of that years ago, and it
just seemed to heal itself, so I have no ideas there. (But I'm still
using v1.3 on OS 10.4.11)

As for the list, I did see your April 26 post, but left it to those
more experienced in footnotes and indices.
But alas, this list is nearly (if not officially) dead. There's a few
die-hards here, but Martin of Nisus apparently is not. They are all
on Nisus' own web-based discussion forum:

As for this Dartmouth list-server errors, for a few years the reply-
to has been broken so that one must add in the listserv portion of
the edress or it fails. There were calls for an admin, but no reply,
hence the idea that it is officially dead, but nobody actually shut
off the switch. :-( Auto-complete may offer the functional address
if you type from scratch, so that may explain inconsistent results.

Hope this helps in some way.
