A 2 hour visit to Kilowatt Park South and North in Wilder, VT, during
the mid day today provided no sightings of vireos, but among the
highlights were a Hooded Merganser (in the Backwater), a Cooper's
Hawk, a Ring-billed Gull, a late Gray Catbird seen well at close
distance along the riverside trail between the South and North
sections, 2 (Yellow) Palm Warblers (one in the South, the other
North), and 3 immature White-crowned Sparrows. Song Sparrows were
impressively numerous.
Hunting on the water above Wilder Dam led to a departure of waterfowl
from that area while I was in the vicinity.
