This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, March 31st, 
2010.



The MEW GULL that was sighted on the mud flats at low tide from the Swasey 
Parkway along the Squamscott River in Exeter earlier in March has been 
repeatedly seen again in the area since then. It is often seen near 
Ring-billed Gulls, and was last reported on the 27th from the Exeter 
Wastewater Treatment Plant.



2 male EURASIAN WIGEONS were again seen on Great Bay from Sunset Farm in 
Greenland, and most recently reported on March 25th.



A female YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD was seen in Greenland, and a male 
YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD was seen in Londonderry, both on March 25th, but 
neither has been relocated,



A NORTHERN SHRIKE was reported from Westmoreland on March 27th, and one was 
seen at Great Bay Farm in Greenland on March 25th.



A GLAUCOUS GULL, an ICELAND GULL, and a BONAPARTE'S GULL were all seen in 
Rye on March 29th.



An ICELAND GULL was reported from Moore Fields on Route 155A in Durham on 
March 31st.



6 GLOSSY IBIS were seen at Sunset Farm in Greenland on March 26th.



A SNOW GOOSE was seen on the Bishop Guertin School fields at Almont Street 
in Nashua on March 30th.



A solitary BRANT was seen at Great Meadows in Charlestown on March 28th, and 
again on the 29th. A pair of NORTHERN SHOVELERS was seen in the area on the 
29th, and a NORTHERN PINTAIL and 60 GREEN-WINGED TEAL were reported from 
here on March 25th.



5 AMERICAN WIGEONS, 55 RING-NECKED DUCKS, 6 GREATER SCAUP, 10 LESSER SCAUP, 
4 BUFFLEHEADS, 2 HORNED GREBES, and 5 RED-NECKED GREBES were seen on the 
Connecticut River in Hinsdale on March 28th.



42 LESSER SCAUP were seen at the Exeter Wastewater Treatment Plant on March 
27th.



88 RING-NECKED DUCKS were seen on Lily Pond in Gilford on March 28th.



4 FISH CROWS were reported from the University of New Hampshire campus in 
Durham on March 31st.



A VIRGINIA RAIL was heard calling from a marsh in Portsmouth on March 26th.



There were several reports of AMERICAN WOODCOCK during the past week 
including 20 from Moore Fields in Durham on the 25th.



There were several sightings of WILSON'S SNIPE during the past week, 
including 30 at Great Bay Farm in Greenland on March 27th.



32 KILLDEER and 50 BROWN-HEADED COWBIRDS were seen at Runnymede Farm in 
North Hampton on March 27th.



50 TREE SWALLOWS were seen at Pickering Ponds on Pickering Road in Rochester 
on March 25th.



2 PINE WARBLERS were reported from Pennichuck Pond in Hollis on March 31st.



There were several reports of EASTERN MEADOWLARKS and EASTERN PHOEBES during 
the past week.



There have been several reports of TURKEY VULTURES during the past week 
including a flock of 10 in Salem on the 25th.
