This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, April 7th, 
2010.



The MEW GULL that was sighted on the mud flats at low tide from the Swasey 
Parkway along the Squamscott River in Exeter in mid-March continues to be 
seen in the area. It is often seen near Ring-billed Gulls, and was last 
reported on April 3rd from the Exeter Wastewater Treatment Plant.



A BLACK VULTURE was seen flying with 3 TURKEY VULTURES in Portsmouth on 
April 4th.



A GOLDEN EAGLE was flying near Old Chesterfield Road in Winchester on April 
3rd, and one was reported from Hancock on April 6th.



A flock of BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS was photographed on Blye Hill Landing Road in 
Newbury on March 31st.



A GLAUCOUS GULL was seen in Hampton Harbor on April 7th.



An ICELAND GULL was seen in Hampton Harbor on April 4th, and one was seen at 
Moore Fields off of Route 155A in Durham on April 6th.



A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen near the parking Lot "A" on the University of New 
Hampshire campus in Durham on April 6th.



A birder on a boat-cruise out of Hampton Harbor saw a RAZORBILL, a 
BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE, and a BONAPARTE'S GULL, all on April 3rd.



A pair of NORTHERN SHOVELERS was seen at the Charlestown Wastewater 
Treatment Plant on April 1st and 2nd, and a single NORTHERN SHOVELER was 
reported from the Keene State College Athletic Fields in Keene on April 3rd.



An AMERICAN WIGEON was seen at Great Meadows in Charlestown on April 1st.

7 LESSER SCAUP were seen at the Exeter Wastewater Treatment Plant on April 
7th.

A RED-BREASTED MERGANSER was seen on Northwood Lake on April 4th.



60 RING-NECKED DUCKS were seen on Lily Pond in Gilford on April 1st, and 39 
were seen at the Deer Hill Wildlife Management Area in Brentwood on April 
7th.





A RED-THROATED LOON was seen on Spofford Lake in Chesterfield on April 3rd.



A PIED-BILLED GREBE was seen in Eel Pond in Rye on April 3rd, one was seen 
on Swain's Lake in Barrington on April 6th, and one was reported from Powder 
Mill Pond in Hancock on the 7th.



A GREAT EGRET was seen at Hampton Harbor on April 3rd and 3 were seen in the 
Hampton/Seabrook area on the 7th.



A GREATER YELLOWLEGS was seen in Hampton Marsh on April 3rd, and 3 were seen 
there on the 4th.



A BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER was seen in Hampton Harbor on April 7th.



2 EVENING GROSBEAKS were reported from Effingham on April 3rd, 2 were 
reported from Berlin on April 3rd, and one was seen in Lyme on April 5th.



A FISH CROW was reported from Surry Lake on April 3rd, one was reported from 
Hampton Harbor on April 3rd, and one was reported from Lake Winnisquam in 
Belmont on April 4th.



2 NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS were seen along the Merrimack River in 
Concord, and 2 were reported from the Nashua River in Nashua, all on April 
3rd



A BLUE-HEADED VIREO was reported from Hancock on April 6th.



A PALM WARBLER was seen in Westmoreland on April 3rd.



A LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH was reported from Darby Brook in Hampstead on April 
5th.



A YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was reported from Keene on April 4th, and one was 
seen in Rochester on April 5th.



An EASTERN TOWHEE was reported from Weare on April 5th, and a BROWN THRASHER 
was seen at Powderhouse Pond in Exeter on April 7th.



A WINTER WREN was heard in Chichester and one was reported from Hancock, 
both on April 5th.



Several RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS were recently reported.



2 HORNED LARKS were seen at Morrill's Farm in Penacook(Concord) on April 
3rd.



BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER (at Little Cherry Pond), TREE SWALLOW, HERMIT 
THRUSH, YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, and RING-NECKED DUCK were species that 
were all seen at Pondicherry National Wildlife Refuge in Jefferson on April 
4th.
