Low water levels below the Ledyard Bridge produced 8 species of
waterfowl this afternoon. Driving back into Norwich at 3:45 pm, I
noticed a big flock of gulls on the flats and stopped again -- they were
all adult Ring-billeds (no Iceland), but the 77 I counted made for the
largest single flock gull I have ever seen in the Upper Valley. The
goldeneyes, which had earlier been on the VT side, were across in the
Mink Brook cove.
