Earlier this afternoon I stopped at Foley Park in Norwich by the
Ledyard Bridge. A Great Blue Heron and a sizable flock of Ring-billed
Gulls provided my first sightings for those two species in Norwich
during 2010. The water level in the Connecticut River was about as low
as I've ever seen.

The full list follows:
Canada Goose 24
Wood Duck 3
Mallard 6
Ring-necked Duck 3
Common Goldeneye 2
Hooded Merganser 4
Common Merganser 8
Great Blue Heron 1
Ring-billed Gull 60
American Crow 3
Song Sparrow 1 (singing)
Common Grackle 2
