Highlights among 25 species found on an Ilead-related birdwalk this morning (May
5) from 7 to 9 AM in the vicinity of the Kilowatt playing fields in the Wilder
section of Hartford, Vermont, and along the adjacent Connecticut River of New
Hampshire included Wood Ducks, 3 Double-crested Cormorants, 3 Turkey Vultures,
Killdeer, Belted Kingfisher, Tree and Rough-winged Swallows, a very vocal Brown
Thrasher, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Yellow Warbler, Yellow-rumped Warblers,
Black-and-white Warbler, and White-throated Sparrows, one of which was gathering
nesting material.
