Wildflower and Bird Walks in Norwich, Vermont:

Two morning walks in the Norwich nature area have been arranged by the Milton
Frye Nature Area Committee. These programs, listed below, are free and open to
the public. Both walks meet at the trailhead for the nature area (see road
instructions below).

1) Saturday May 17, 2008, 9:30 AM. A wildflower walk, cosponsored by the Upper
Valley Native Plant Study Group and the Milton Frye Nature Area Committee, is to
be led by Sarah Schwaegler. Participants on this walk will be best prepared by
attending the Upper Valley Plant Study Group meeting on "Essentials of
Wildflower Identification", to be held on Tuesday May 13, 2008, at 7:00 PM in
the Howe Library in Hanover, NH. For additional information, please contact
Sarah Schwaegler at 603-272-4817.

2) Saturday May 24, 2008, 7:00 to 10 AM.
A birdwalk in the nature area is to be led by George Clark, a member of the
Milton Frye Nature Area Committee. Bring binoculars if available. The number of
participants is limited. Please register in advance at
<[log in to unmask]>; requests are to be acknowledged by e-mail.

Road instructions:
From Exit 13 of I-91, turn towards the village of Norwich. Upon entering the
village on Main Street, take the first right onto a paved road which passes
between the town green on your left and St. Barnabas Church on your right.
Continue past the Marion Cross School on your left and then turn into the
parking lot on the right. The trailhead at the far end of that parking lot is to
be the starting point for both walks.
