Hi, Everyone:

Sorry to have missed you all Monday night. What I thought were just
seasonal allergies early in the day turned rather quickly into an
end-of-summer cold, and I didn't want to show up at rehearsal and infect
the whole crew!

So much for my excuses, now down to business:

This Saturday, we have a performance scheduled at Wheelock Terrace in
Hanover, NH. I'm including directions below. We're playing under a canopy
as usual, so this will be a rain-or-shine engagement. Please be seated and
ready to play from 2 to 3 PM. As usual, extra hands are appreciated to help
set up prior to that.

There were two other items I asked Becky to share with you, but I just
wanted to repeat the details here. First, if you took part in the Prouty
performance this summer and still haven't received a T-shirt, just reply to
this message with your desired size. They're running low, so I can't
guarantee availability, but we'll see what we can do.

Second, Jim Wojewoda of the Kearsarge Community Band is trying to assemble
(or re-assemble) the NH Rail Trail Band in honor of a Rail Trail event
scheduled to take place on October 4th. He's inviting all musicians of the
Upper Valley to take part on an individual basis rather than as a group
invitation to UVCB. There will be a rehearsal in New London on Tuesday,
September 23rd in the New London Outing Club Indoor Facility on Cougar
Court from 7 to 9 PM. You'll be allowed to take music home to rehearse. The
performance will take place on Saturday, October 4th in Boscawen, NH at
Jamie Welch Park, located at the end of Depot St. Participants will play
starting at 9:30 AM, break from 10 to 11 AM, then return to play until
12:15 PM. The music will be themed toward trains and travel, and your
audience will include NH Governor Maggie Hassan. If you're interested,

Wheelock Terrace is located in Hanover, New Hampshire, a short distance
from Dartmouth Hitchcock Memorial Hospital and Interstates 91 and 89.

From I-91 - Exit 13:

Drive as if you were heading to Hanover High School for rehearsal.
Pass the high school and proceed through town toward Lebanon on Route 120
South.
At the intersection of Rte 120 and Greensboro Rd, stay in the right lane
and continue through the lights.
Buck Road is the next road on the right after the lights, across from
Trumbull Nelson Construction.
Wheelock Terrace is at the very end of Buck Road, about 0.4 miles from the
turn-off.

From I-89/Lebanon:

Head toward Hanover on Route 120.
You'll pass through lighted intersections leading to DHMC and Jesse's
Restaurant.
After the Jesse's/DHMC intersection, you'll see Buck Road on the left,
across from Trumbull Nelson Construction.
Wheelock Terrace is at the very end of Buck Road, about 0.4 miles from the
turn-off.
