What an exciting spot! I stopped by around 1 or so and DID see the
Rough-Legged Hawk sitting in the top pine tree to the left side of the
field. Got good looks through my scope. I thought her eyes looked light
colored, and looking in sibleys wondered if it could be a first year?
Didn't get a good look at her breast because she was sitting back-to, and
when she finally flew, it was away from my direction.

I didn't see a Merlin, but there was a male American Kestrel bobbing his
tail in the top of a smaller bare tree.. We (Martha...? I can't remember
your last name!) also saw what we believe was a lone Snow Goose fly across
the field and then away, which was pretty cool, though I was worried about
what it was doing all by itself. Small groups of Canada Geese flying by
also..

MAY have heard a Kildeer, but not sure that's what it was. Wasn't the full
"Kill-Deer" cry. It might be the sound one of the Hawks can make, I'm not
sure, but I'd be interested to hear if anyone else hears one out there!
