Laurel,

I saw the same flock of ducks around 3:00 PM when I was driving up Rt 10 in West Lebanon. They first flew over Computac toward the river, then broke into two groups and flew back eastward. I thought at the time that they were mallards.

Mike

Subject: [UVB] Eagles, etc.

Quite the dramatic day here in West Lebanon. At about 2 pm a juvenile and a mature bald eagle repeatedly harried a large flock (100 or more) of ducks paddling along the banks of the Connecticut near Lyman Bridge (very amateurish photo of the juvenile attached).

Not sure what kind of ducks they were, but they didn't look like mallards. If anything, they seemed entertained by the eagles.

At about the same time the largest roost of crows I've ever seen flew from the river and are now turning the sky dark in West Leb near Wilder Dam.

Apologies for the mediocre photo.
