I was entertained by 3 Broad-winged Hawks soaring above our house at lunchtime. There were 2 juveniles soaring together, taking turns practicing their aerial dives at each other. The wings of both juveniles showed transculent cresents at the ends of their primaries, as described in Sibley's guide. A lone adult was high above at a safe distance from the rambunctious youngsters.
