An awesome group of enthusiastic birders joined me for a tour of a few
Orford hotspots today. We tallied about thirty species on a slighty foggy
but pleasant morning. Highlights included a nice mixed flock of migrants
along the edge of the river at the Richmond Conservation Land. Present in
this flock were a couple of Tennessee Warblers, a Black-throated Green,
a Black-and-white Warbler, a Scarlet Tanager, and a Blue-headed Vireo among
others. At Boat Landing Road we added a Savannah Sparrow and a Northern
Harrier. A cooperative American Kestrel, at times sharing a scope view with
a Blue Jay and Northern Flicker were present at Reed's Marsh. Thanks to all
who joined me and I hope to see you again (and others) at our next trip at
Bedell Bridge State Park on October 7th!
