UVB: Here is an excerpt from the Windsor town newsletter of Friday February 10, '17:
Monday, 20 February 2017, 5:00 p.m . Windsor Welcome Center There is a wonderful new 800+ acre wildlife management area in Windsor adjacent to the correctional facility. Many have enjoyed wandering on this state-owned property for years, while others are scarcely aware of its existence. Representatives John Bartholomew and Paul Belaski have organized a public informational meeting on the progress of the land management plan.

Louis Porter, Commissioner of Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department, and biologists from the Department will be on hand to discuss the transfer of state land previously associated with the Southeast State Correctional Facility from the Vermont Department of Buildings and General Services to the Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife. Please note: This is NOT a meeting to discuss the Governor's proposal to close the prison in Windsor.
