While I can not compete with a pectoral sandpiper I have not done too badly from our rain soaked deck. These last two days certainly seem well suited to wading birds but the woods probably is not the appropriate local.
We have been without power the last 40 hours so what else is there to do but wait for the bird parties to pass through. On average we get two good pulses a day, usually around mid-day and then 4-5ish.
Today there were 24 species including 8 warbler, two vireos, and a hummer still around at our feeder.
