I’ve been watching this flock of wild turkeys in the field on Rte 5 (between Farrell Farm Rd and the Pompy pony farm/gravel pit) all summer. It’s on my regular bike route between Norwich village and Pompanoosuc (and back). They’ve been a pretty constant presence there in the late afternoon/early evening all spring/summer/fall. I most recently saw them on Christmas Eve (an all-time record late season bike ride for me). I stopped counting at about 30. Estimate there were at least 40-45 on 12/24, but didn’t stop for a more accurate count as I was fast losing the late afternoon light.

A flock of 65+/- individuals was observed this afternoon around four o'clock foraging in the same US Rt. 5/Farrell Farms Rd. cornfield where a large flock was observed on December 10.
