Saw some common mergansers splashing, pruning, feeding in the
shallows around Norford Lake today. Also saw one belted kingfisher
diving for its meal, wondering what it sees as its head enters the
icy water. No need to wonder anymore, thanks to the spectacular
underwater photography of kingfishers in the current issue of
National Geographic.
