Adventuring out to the valley yesterday, with Len Reitsma and Champ(the field mouse) yielded rafts of Goldeneye on the lake in Charlotte, large flocks of robins, a small flock of larks.
18 Redtails
1 Rough leg
1 Kestrel, male
3 Redtails caught and banded and photographed. 2 Adults and one Imm. Photos available if you like to see them.
We owe it all to Champ as he ran around non stop in the trap. Champ is a true Olympian mouse. He is happily back home in his aquarium, feasting on cookie and a carrot.
