Last evening 3/14 as we entered the southbound lane of
I- 89 at exit 20 in West Lebanon we noted 4 Canada Geese in flight headed west. First of the season for me.
On Thursday PM 3/12 noted 4 Cedar Waxwings in my apple tree near the pond. Still many old apples still hanging from the branches. They finally found me this year. Also one lone Cedar yesterday PM.
We went up on George Hill this AM to check out an apple tree there for Cedars or Bohemians without success. Did see a nice Piliated Woodpecker though.
Speaking of Migrants. Has anyone seen or heard Woodcock yet?
George Pond in Enfield Ctr. is opening up. Did see a couple of ducks last week in an open area of water. The dam area on Mascoma Lake has numerous ducks sunning themselves at the ice edge.
