When I had checked the Chimney Swift roost at KUA August 11 there were only
85 swifts, down from a high of 144 on July 31. My husband was kind enough
to come with me on August 14 to check the science building chimney while I
watched the power plant to see if the swifts had changed chimneys liked
they did last year.
There was no migration to the secondary chimney which only had 1 swift
enter it. The power plant chimney only had 36! I unfortunately could not
count again until last night, August 23. At one point I did see a high of
3 swifts flying around, but only 1 entered the chimney.
