Early this afternoon a Swamp Sparrow appeared at my backyard feeding station here in Norwich village. By historic standards, this is relatively early in the spring for this species to be found this far north but not record-breaking for Vermont.

Two Song Sparrows and a Tree Sparrow have also been present, together with 13 other bird species so far today.
