This morning, a Fox Sparrow, 2 Song Sparrows, and 2 Common Grackles  
were the first of the year for their respective species around the  
yard here in Norwich village. Among 14 other bird species here so far  
today were 17 Blue Jays, an American Robin, at least 15 European  
Starlings, 4 American Tree Sparrows, a White-throated Sparrow, 6 Dark- 
eyed Juncos, and 4 male Red-winged Blackbirds.
