Thanks for your update,Bill. I am glad to know that I am not the only one noticing the decline of our usual feathered friends. Finally, in the last day or so, we have had a few returnees to the feeders, but the birds have been missing from the woods around our house for weeks. Even though our yard is full of wild grapes and other wild foods the birds have not been after them. The decline began here in mid-September, before the big storm.

It will be interesting to see if others are seeing similar situation.

Donna

So…. I, in the last 6 weeks, have filled my tube bird feeder twice, and its half full as I write. (though I am saving $ on birdseed)

My suet (homemade) seems to get eaten every few days. 2 cups of ground feed/ day.

1 Am. Tree Sparrow so far, 1 White-thr. Sparrow (yest). Couple of Chickadees, handful of TuTi’s. DoWo.

So wut’s up ????

My guess: something to do with the warm October….and all oiseaux skipped over VT en route to CT or MD ??

Quietly waiting for my pals to show up.
