What started out as a very quiet walk in the rain at Campbell Flats turned
into a fairly active 45 minutes, with some obvious migrant fall out.
Conditions that favor concentrations of migrants here seem to be low
overcast, if not drizzle, usually in association with warm temperatures and
southerly air flow -- not the classic autumn cold fronts that get boreal
migrants on the move. As often happens in these conditions, low light and
fast-moving birds in treetops make for challenging identifications.
