From at least as far back as the 1930s until about ten years ago the arrival dates were later. Palm warblers showed up in mid-April with yellow-rumped (Myrtles!) around the 20th. Pine and black and whites came right around the first of May and most of the rest after the first week in May. The final warblers were the Tennessee and blackpolls which didn't make an appearance until mid-May.

Everything now is one to two weeks earlier and has been the last few years.

Mike

Black-throated green in Fairlee Forest this a.m. Possible yellow or chestnut-sided (somewhat tentative song though). Blue-headed vireo there too. Do warblers always reach Vermont this early?
