Greetings all,
Sorry for the delay in getting this out, but I wasn't anywhere to post until
this morning.
Yesterday I did a little birding in my old haunts in Enfield, and had a few
good birds.
I started with a quick visit to Bog Road, where on either side of 6:30 I
heard a Winter Wren, several sapsuckers and Swamp Sparrows, a Rusty
Blackbird, and the usual suspects.
From 7-930 I led a trip along the Rail Trail near "Main Street Pond" and
Shaker Bridge, which tallied 39 species. Highlights were great looks at
Savannah Sparrow, Sharp-shinned Hawk, Osprey, Green Heron, Ruby-crowned
Kinglets, and Purple Finch. Also of note were a female Bufflehead on the
pond and 3 Horned Grebe out on the lake.
Pam Hunt,
