This morning (March 16) here in the backyard in Norwich village, a
male and a female Brown-headed Cowbird joined with two Common Grackles
and about 15 Red-winged Blackbirds in a mixed species flock feeding
apparently on finely cracked corn and black oil sunflower seeds.

This was my first sighting during 2009 of cowbirds in Norwich. My
earliest spring sighting ever of cowbirds here in the backyard was of
two individuals on March 8, 2004.
