This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Sunday, November 27th,
2016.
A light-morph ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen in Nashua on November 24th.
A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen at the Russell Abbott State Forest in Mason on
November 24th, 1 was seen in Jefferson on the 24th. and 1 was seen at
Woodmont Orchard in Hollis on the 23rd.
A DICKCISSEL was seen at Arboretum Drive in Newington on November 21st and
22nd.
A LAPLAND LONGSPUR was reported from a road on the east side of the Edward
MacDowell Lake in Peterborough on November 27th, and 1 was seen at Hampton
Beach State Park on the 24th.
A flock of 8 SNOW BUNTINGS was seen at Storrs Hill in Lebanon on November
26th.
3 AMERICAN PIPITS were reported from the coast on November 25th.
A flock of WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS was reported from near Willard Pond in
Antrim on November 26th.
A flock of 12 EVENING GROSBEAKS was seen in Jefferson on November 25th.
A male EURASIAN WIGEON was seen in the southeast part of Great Bay in
Greenland on November 26th.
An AMERICAN COOT was seen on the 25th, and a BLACK SCOTER and a LONG-TAILED
DUCK were seen on the 24th, all on Cherry Pond in Jefferson. A LONG-TAILED
DUCK was seen on the Androscoggin River in Errol on November 24th. A BLACK
SCOTER was seen on Pudding Pond in North Conway on November 23rd. 2
WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS and 2 LONG-TAILED DUCKS were seen on Back Lake in
Pittsburg on November 24th. 3 BLACK SCOTERS and a LONG-TAILED DUCK were seen
at the Balsams in Dixville Notch on November 23rd.
A flock of 38 COMMON EIDER was seen flying over Hollis on November 23rd, and
4 were seen on Squam Lake on the 24th.
3 LESSER SCAUP were seen on Eel Pond in Rye on November 24th.
A BONAPARTE’S GULL was seen at Wilson Pond in Swanzey on November 25th.
A PURPLE SANDPIPER was reported from the coast on November 23rd.
A RUSTY BLACKBIRD was seen in Warren on November 26th.
A WILSON’S WARBLER was seen at Odiorne Point State Park in Rye on November
27th.
A COMMON YELLOWTHROAT was reported from the Colebrook Wastewater Treatment
Plant on November 26th, and 1 was reported from the Exeter Wastewater
Treatment Plant on the 21st.
A YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was seen at the Horse Hill Nature Preserve in
Merrimack on November 27th.
3 GRAY CATBIRDS and a BROWN THRASHER were reported from the coast during the
past week.
A HERMIT THRUSH was seen in Colebrook on November 26th, and 1 was seen in
Rochester on the 23rd.
A flock of nearly 70 WILD TURKEYS was seen in Lyme on November 23rd.
4 TURKEY VULTURES were seen in Lee on November 22nd.
A MERLIN was seen in coastal Seabrook on November 23rd, a PEREGRINE FALCON
was seen in coastal Hampton on the 24th, a NORTHERN GOSHAWK was seen in
North Hampton on the 22nd, and a NORTHERN GOSHAWK was seen in South Sutton
on the 27th.
