Spent the 4th at our camp on Hall's Pond and despite lots of boating
traffic, recorded some good birds. An Osprey and a Double-crested Cormorant
were flying around the lake. The resident Common Loon spent the day circled
by water skiers and tubers and I heard Merlins at the north end of the
lake. Merlins have been spotted around the picnic area by the boat launch
for several seasons now.
