The late-morning air at Lyme's Chaffee Sanctuary rang with songs of
Northern Cardinal and Warbling Vireo plus rich calls of Common Loon on Post
Pond.

In Orford at Reed's Marsh, enjoyed two pairs of Ring-necked Ducks, two
pairs of Hooded Mergansers plus 2--3 unattached females - all diving
vigorously, a sprightly Yellow-rumped Warbler plus pair of Bald Eagles
side-by-side at their nest in big pine above the wetland.

Beautiful day.

Connie Snyder
