· Our upcoming Energy Immersion Trip to Appalachia in partnership with the Irving Institute is a unique opportunity to delve into the intricate relationship between West Virginia's cultural identity, economy, politics, and environment, all framed by the historical influence of coal.

THRIFT STORE INTERNSHIP
· The Free Market Thrift Store diverts clothing from Dartmouth's waste stream and redistributes it to our community for free.
· We'll be sending out materials to apply for a Free Market Thrift Store internship later this week, so stay tuned!

CLIMATE WINS
So much of our media is mired in gloom and doom–and don't get us wrong, there's a lot to be wary of when it comes to our fight for a just, livable future in the face of intensifying injustices and climate change. But, there's also SO much good work being done, too, that rarely gets highlighted. Celebrating Climate Wins counterbalances the bad news and reinvigorates our community in this good and hard work.
· During winterim, COP28, the UN's Climate Change Conference, took place in Dubai. Participating heads of state signed the COP28 Global Renewables and Energy Efficiency Pledge<https://www.cop28.com/en/global-renewables-and-energy-efficiency-pledge>. The pledge involves tripling global renewable energy capacity and doubling the rate of energy efficiency improvements<https://www.vox.com/climate/24000157/cop28-climate-conference-uae-dubai-winners-losers-fossil-fuels-methane> by 2030.
· The International Energy Agency believes that rapid increases in solar power capacity and electric car sales have made the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C more achievable<https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2023/10/green-energy-climate-and-nature-stories-to-read-this-week/> if clean energy efforts continue.

Principal Chief Geoffrey Standing Bear, assistant creative director Addie Roanhorse, cultural consultant Marla Redcorn-Miller '89 and actor Yancey Red Corn will discuss their role in helping to shape the film, their perspective on the events portrayed and the impact they hope the film will have.
