Dear friends,

Thanks to various suggestions, tips and advice you all have offered me the
problem is virtually gone. I still get the beach ball from time to time, but
it disappears after 5 seconds or so. Besides, the problem may have to do
with the OS X, because the beach ball appears when I’m working with
something other than NWP such as Entourage. It’s difficult for me to pin
down which suggestion/advice of yours has cured the problem. In the meantime
someone seems to have prompted Nisus Corporation to offer me NWP version
1.4.2 free, which I have gratefully installed. Anyway, what matters is that
it’s working again, so I can stay with NWP for now without moving over to
Mellel.
