Easy question to answer Žorvaršur.

I only have a Mark 1 version of iPad, but it has no camera, so that question is answered. Waving a large size piece of electronics over your head to take a photo does not appeal; anyway I have an iPhone (-:

Uses:
* I down iPad and read my local newspaper - international news, local news, business, sport, etc. Could probably do same by downloading foreign papers too.
* I learn and play Contract Bridge.
* I can make slide shows on the iMac from my camera and transfer to iPad.
* It comes with Safari, Mail, Twitter, and Pages. [And it is here that a cut-down NWExpress is sadly missed. I reckon it is being worked on so can only hope.] Ask for it.
* I download books and read them. For my eyesight this is excellent.
* I have not hears what the total number of other Apps, but there must be close to 1 million.
* It's not heavy, read contents in a train,etc.

Whether there are Apps not useful to Macs is a matter of choice. Probably thousands.

Difference from a MacBook Pro 11" or 13"? Far more Apps than Mac applications because they seem to be easy to write, and I miss the simplicity of Cut and Paste. etc.

And an iPad is NOT a computer in the sense we know them. But if was, say, a doctor in a hospital, I could walk around the wards carrying in my hand all the medical details of all my patients on iPad, then update them there and then and send them to the hospital's server to see them in my office

Erik:
I am having no success in getting back to the List at Dartmouth. Would you mind forwarding this mail the Žorvaršur?
I will contact you later setting out my connection problems, if that is OK.
