Depends on the newspaper, but special apps use the iPad format much better, particularly papers you subscribe to  (i.e. not newspaper websites), as they tailor the layout to the iPad screen while giving you the full content of the paper version. Such as the new LeMonde iPad version, which you download online, and then can read the complete paper screen-by-screen while you are offline.
