>Subject: TV5 & foreign-lang TV (TBob)
Our university is becoming a "head-end" cable distributer for the campus.
In with it all is foreign language TV.
We have a contract with TV5 and are receiving a signal (though I have not
been over to see...cause I am afraid of my boss). I did tell the good man
that I was going to link in the schedules to our lab page, but I have a
big problem.
The TV5 USA website has a weekly programming grid page:
http://www.tv5.org/usa/fr.index.ante.sema.html
with cities on it, and the following command "Pour consulter la grille de
programme de votre fuseau horaire, cliquez sur le pays ou pays ville de
reference." Well I thought that would be a no-brainer to click on a city
in our time zone...hey they are different!! I did not anticipate this, and
I have no idea how to calculate our reference city in the central time
zone. Anyone got TV5? How do you get your schedule? I don't know if I am
Chicago, Nouvelle Orleans, Madison, Dallas, Houston, Oklahoma....HELP!
Next problem. We cannot seem to negotiate with Telemundo (heck, they can't
even put together their web site [http://www.telemundo.com]). Yes, I know
that Univision is better, but who has the do-re-me for that. Anybody have
a suggestion for a Spanish station that is marketing their signal?
