Dear Colleagues,

A sales pitch for the upcoming departmental seminar speaker this week.

Glen Weyl is speaking this Wed. from 3-4:30 p.m. Glen is a real hot-shot in the field .. valedictorian at Princeton who finished his PhD just one year later see link...

...then on to Harvard Society of Fellows. He currently has a position at Chicago, now on leave in Cambridge at Microsoft Research. He's speaking on a potentially big idea, "Quadratic Voting," a scheme that is an optimal solution to problems that don't have market-based solutions (public goods and so forth).

Please consider signing up for a remaining office visit slot (he may be able to solve one of your nagging research problems for you, who knows?), and certainly come to see him in action in the seminar.

Best,

--Chris
