Dartmouth faculty may now request Learning Fellows for upcoming Winter, Spring, and Summer 2017 courses in the College of Arts and Sciences. Learning Fellows are paid undergraduates who help facilitate small group activities during class periods.

Learning Fellows or Learning Assistants programs are in place in numerous colleges and universities nationwide and in the past year, more than 35
undergraduates have served as Learning Fellows in some of Dartmouth’s large science and humanities courses. Thanks to increased support for this program,
we are pleased to open new opportunities for faculty to partner with Learning Fellows. Any faculty member in the College of Arts and Sciences may apply to
work with Learning Fellows in Winter, Spring, or Summer 2017. DCAL and Educational Technologies handle the hiring and training process for Learning
Fellows, and we select Fellows from high-performing students who have previously taken the course to which they are assigned.

Learning Fellows help faculty by:
-Reaching more students and students of different learning styles
-Answering routine questions from students
-Helping students tackle exam-level problem sets
-Encouraging students to engage in more deeply in conversations and classroom discussions

If you are a faculty member interested in working with Learning Fellows, please fill out our short application<https://dartmouth.co1.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_eam4cW5uHkxHAVv>. It takes less than 10 minutes. We will accept proposals on a rolling basis throughout the year, but we ask that all requests for Winter 2017 be submitted by midnight on October 10th.

More information about the program is available at sites.dartmouth.edu/<http://sites.dartmouth.edu/learningfellows>learning<http://sites.dartmouth.edu/learningfellows>fellows<http://sites.dartmouth.edu/learningfellows> and faculty can find specific information about the application process atsites.dartmouth.edu/<http://atsites.dartmouth.edu/learningfellows/application-for-faculty>learning<http://atsites.dartmouth.edu/learningfellows/application-for-faculty>fellows<http://atsites.dartmouth.edu/learningfellows/application-for-faculty>/application-for-faculty<http://atsites.dartmouth.edu/learningfellows/application-for-faculty>.

If you have any questions, please let me know!

Thanks,
Kes
